8-18-22 THOUGHTS
The way to God was provided by God. The path to God was a man, the Son of God! Jesus is the only WAY to God! Our goodnesses cannot put us in relationship with God. It took the death-burial and resurrection of the Christ to give us relationship with the Father. Ours is to believe and submit, and then joyfully keep on submitting. We must abide in the vine and produce fruit in the Kingdom. The PROMISES herein are eternally awesome! Our thoughts this morning are simple and powerful and needful!
Heb 10:19-20 tells us “Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither [can] you unless you abide in Me.”
John 14:1-11 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 "In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 "And you know the way where I am going." 5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." 8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
John 20:30-31 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
My Prayer:
Thanksgiving and praise to One who saves us. All power is Yours, O God, as is all grace and mercy and love. By your love, you have adopted us as children. It cost Jesus his blood. May we see that cost so deeply, that our hearts will beat to the rhythm of His heart. Teach us to die to the flesh so that we can live to the Spirit. Please, O Father, help us to move away from tepid apathy. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
